Pacebaja is the production and research journal for Pace University’s award winning documentary travel course. In March, 2013, a dozen students along with seasoned media professional, Dr. Maria Luskay and New York Times blogger Professor Andrew Revkin, will spend a week in Mexico, exploring and recording the evolving balance between local communities and the surrounding ecosystem. The team will try to chronicle how communities that once depended on sea turtle poaching and other extractive activities depleting the region’s rich natural resources are now testing a new economic model – one built around conservation and sustainable tourism.
